This blog has been created for all the teachers and students at Itäkeskus High School who are interested in social media and learning English. For students taking my English courses, this blog is key to keeping up in class and getting all the material necessary to complete each course.
Courses will be evaluated according to tests based on the In Touch English books (grammar and vocabulary), listening comprehensions, pronunciation and class activity, and a media project based on the theme of the course in question. For more specific details about the requirements of each course, please refer to the course page on the right hand side.
Learning by doing!
Media, communication and information technology are emphasized during each course. I hope to bring the real world into the classroom and encourage students to better seek and use information available on the Internet. Using social media allows students to express themselves creatively and make a difference by leaving a digital footprint. If you are looking for study material, instructions, schedules, links etc., please click the correct page on the right sidebar and you’re on your way. Good luck!
Best regards, Anna Leino / English Teacher

A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are fruitless. We find that after years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us. – John Steinbeck
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime. ~ Mark Twain
“There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.” ~ Douglas Adams
“I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen.” ~Ernest Hemingway
